January 2016

Season’s Greetings from the Lake George Boosters Board!  We hope you have a Great Holiday Season with your families. THANK YOU:  Irv Mann for making the wooden piece with Tom Krchmar’s name for our Lifetime Member Wall Plaque; to the many donors who helped us with our Thanksgiving Baskets (we helped 12 families in our area this year); Marsha Dettlof, Carol Maas & Marlene McGlashen  for packing the baskets and Gail White for chairing the Baskets Project; Gail White for her work on the Building Donors Plaque; The Fish Fry workers and those who donated desserts; JR for frying the fish and installing the Fryer; those people who have recently donated paper products; Gary & Carol Maas for hosting The Fall Party; Irv & Sandie Mann for donating the Fryer to The Club; Betty Gniech & John Decriscio for chairing Early Bird Euchre; Mike Green and his helpers who ran a very successful Trap Season; and Sue Green for creating our new Rental Agreement.  We appreciate everyone’s help!!

From the President…. Wow! 2015 certainly was a busy year for the Boosters’!  As this year comes to an end I’d just like to thank everyone who helped in any way.  From Board members who made some difficult decisions; to all who made monetary donations so we could get our new hood and fire suppression system paid for, or worked a breakfast or dinner (from set-up to clean up!), or hosted Euchre, worked or supported our yard sale or bake sale, made desserts for our dinners, or just showed up to enjoy one of our fabulous breakfasts or dinners!  Thanks to everyone who supported me as president.  Lots of people helped in many different ways!  My wish for you all is that you and your families have a very Happy and Healthy New Year!!!   Carol

Thank you to those who have already paid their 2016 dues.  It is that time of year when dues are due.  We will not be having breakfasts in Jan., Feb., and March so it would be best to mail them to our PO Box at the top of the newsletter. Check your membership cards to see if you need to pay your dues. Dues are $20 per person.

Tom Krchmar is our 2015 Member OfThe Year and our newest Lifetime Member.  We appreciate all of the hours of work and planning he did for our “NEW” building.

Winter Euchre starts Tues., January 5, 2016. The doors open at 6 with cards at 7.  You may pay your dues at this time also.  Winter Euchre is open to the public, so bring your friends and neighbors.  The Early Bird Euchre was very well attended and we had lots of new people.  This event is a fund raising event for the club as well as a social time for those who come.  You are welcome to bring a snack to share at the break.

Once again I would like to remind members of OUR MISSION: Our club was formed for the promotion and personal welfare of the area and to assist persons in need, due to illness or catastrophe.  Our 2016 donations will be: Two $400 College Scholarships, one each to Farwell, and Harrison Schools; Lincoln Twp. Senior Center; COLT (children of Lincoln Twp.); Thanksgiving Baskets (we fed 12 families in 2015); and Redding Twp. Children’s Activity Fund. We could not make these donations without the support of our members and the community who attend our breakfasts and dinners.  Thanks to everyone.

Irv Mann has resigned from the board.  We would like to thank him for his years of service to The Boosters Club Board.  The board appointed Sue Green to take his place to finish out his term of office.

We are planning a Yard Sale July 1 & 2, with drop off of things Thurs., June30.  Please save your treasurers for our sale.  We will also have the Book Sale at this time. Please save your books.  We will have Fairchild & Green’s as the drop off place for books, for those who will not be here on Thurs.  If you have large items they can be picked up by calling Maas at 989-588-5017.

We are looking for someone to co-chair a Golf Outing, as a fund raiser event.  If you are interested call Gail White 989-588-6257.
