From the President…..WOW, what a great yard sale we had! Such generosity from members and non-members alike. This community really came together with both donations and purchasing from the yard sale. We did very well! It will certainly help pay for some of the bills and the scholarships, etc. It looks like we will have another one next year, so start saving the goodies~! Carol

THANK YOU: The Fish Fry workers and those who donated desserts for the May Fish Fry, the people who donated Bake Goods, Pat Swanson and her granddaughter for working at the Bake Sale, Betty Gniech for chairing the event, the people who bought Bake Goods, Pat & Marshall Swanson for donating the electric can opener, Gary & Carol Maas/Mike & Sue Green for dedicating 3 days plus to this very successful project, we must thank the euchre players for coming out each week to play cards and support the club, the Trap Shooters who come each week, Duane & Elaine Updyke for the donation of Large Chinet Plates, and Eileen Coleman for donating a card table & 4 chairs to use at Trap,

Our next Fish Fry is Friday, August 18. We start serving at 4pm. Take Out is available. Please bring your friends and neighbors. Summer Euchre ends on Tues., Aug. 29. Our Fall Euchre will start Tues., Sept. 5 at 7pm. It is open to the public so tell your friends and neighbors about it. We have had very good attendance at Summer Euchre and the attendees have had a great time. Euchre supports the club also. It is a great night out to socialize. Check the calendar at the end of this newsletter for future events.

Our Annual Chicken BBQ is Sun., Sept. 3, with serving at 4pm. This is Labor Day Weekend Sunday. Take out is available. The Health Department now requires us to make all salads at the club. You may get a phone call to donate ingredients. It is still okay to have desserts made at home and brought to the club.

Our Annual Membership Party is Sat., Sept. 16. Cocktails are at 5 with a Potluck Dinner at 6. Meat and adult beverages will be furnished by the club. We will have Door Prizes, a Presentation of the Club History by Pat Johnson, and we will name our new Members of The Year. Please come out and meet other members.

It is the time of year we start to collect donations for our Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families in the area. This year we are not having an Oct., Nov., or Dec. Breakfast, so we need to start asking for donations earlier this year. You may drop off your Non-perishable food items or Money donations at Fairchild & Green Realty by Nov. 3 or the Club when we are open. With Fall Euchre on Tues., we are open from 6-9pm. Thank you for your help with this project. The families always appreciate what we do for them.

We are having a Pork Dinner Sat., Oct. 14 at 4pm. Take out is available. We will be calling for dessert donations and workers. Please come out and enjoy a meal with us.

Mark your calendars for Sat., Nov. 18 for a Bake Sale at Jay’s from 9-3. This is during hunting season, so we are hoping for a good turnout. The club will be open Fri., Nov. 17 from 9-11 to drop off your bake goods if you do not want to drive them to Jay’s on Saturday. Thanks again for your help with your donations.

A special THANK YOU to Gary and Lorraine Akin’s July Breakfast Crew. Sandie Mann was in the hospital so we had to go ahead without her: Roger & Maggie Carey, Marlene McGlashen, Marshall & Pat Swanson, Anne Harless, Annie Weyher, JR Ringley, Gail White, and Martha Neaher. We served 135 people!! Sandie Mann is out of the hospital and doing well now.

The Board Members whose terms are up in Dec. 2017 have decided to stay on the board. Therefore, we will not need a Board Election.
